Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These terms govern your use of the ShellQuest website and applications (the “Service”), operated by [your legal entity] (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to them.
Using the Service
ShellQuest is an educational product. You may use it for your own learning. Please don't misuse it — no attempting to break, overload, scrape at scale, or resell the Service, and no using it for anything unlawful.
Educational content, not professional advice
The lessons, scenarios, labs and tools are for learning. They simulate real systems but are simplified. Always verify commands and apply professional judgement before running anything against production infrastructure. We are not liable for actions you take on real systems based on what you learn here.
Accounts and purchases
The app currently has no accounts. When paid plans launch, purchases are processed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's terms as well as these. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled per App Store policy.
Intellectual property
The ShellQuest name, content, lessons and software are owned by us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for learning. You may share your own results and screenshots; you may not republish our content as your own.
Availability
We aim for a reliable Service but provide it “as is” without warranties, and we may change or discontinue features. We're infrastructure people — we know nothing has 100% uptime.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes & contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected in the date above. Governing law: [your jurisdiction]. Questions: hello@shellquest.io.
A good-faith draft. Have it reviewed against your final legal entity and jurisdiction before public launch.
